Necton v Freethorpe

Freethorpe took the trip round the A47 to Necton knowing that a victory would lift them into the promotion places. This seemed to inspire Freethorpe into a good performance with goals coming regularly throughout the game. Prolific striker Rix scored his 49th and 50th goals of the season within the opening 12 minutes of the game. Fullback Burns was on hand shortly after to head home a delightful cross from Smith. Freethorpe then seemed to ease off and went through the motions for the rest of the half. Freethorpe started slowly in the second half and Necton deserve credit for their hard work and endeavour. Smith scored Freethorpes fourth on the hour mark from a Loomes long throw. Read added another slotting home neatly from a Rix throughball. Rix completed his hatrick from a freekick when the same player was brought down on the edge of the box. The sprightly Lawton then added two goals in two minutes with substitute Marsh completing the scoring in the final minute to make the final score 9-0. A good solid performance.
